I’m in agreement now about what is pictured. Speedo style suit with the Bulge Booster. If he was wearing a thong, we’d see a minimum amount of fabric creeping towards his ass, but it looks like it just goes (ahem) straight over his lower back.

I also have to agree that thongs are considered more “feminine” and jockstraps more “masculine”. However, a lot of masculine strippers tend to rely on thongs because they can be easily designed to accentuate the pouch and allow for more bounce. (In the US, there are specialized thongs for strippers called “flopper”, “wopper”, and “super wopper”. I’ll let your imagination roam.)

I will say this, though. It takes the right body type to wear a thong, otherwise it is just wrong. With a jockstrap, most guys can look sexy in one.

As Donald said above, Rufskin does jeans that have a back very like what his suit looks like there, but I don’t know if this is one of theirs or not. They do swimsuits as well, but they tend to not be quite as risqué as this…

However, I don’t know if that’s a thong he’s wearing either…judging by the slight curve where the top of his crack is, it very well could be. The bulge enhancer strap things that are also sold a lot these days, which have no leg straps or butt straps, tend to have a basic elastic, underwear-like waistband, whereas this one appears to be perhaps lycra or something…Perhaps he’s wearing a lycra swim thong and then a swim brief over that? Tough to know…If only he’d stand up and give us a better look all around!

As for the jock thing: swim jocks tend to be worn more with “larger” swim shorts and such, and not so much with speedos or midcuts (though they can be, under the right circumstances, that aren’t photo shoots). One of the first times I ever went to a pool, with my dad when I was a kid, he was very clear that one should wear a jock with one’s swimming shorts. He is thoroughly American, and grew up in a very rural town in eastern WA, so this is something he’s done for ages and ages. I’ve kept that in mind in my subsequent life, and I have done so with some of the more generously cut speedos and midcuts that I sometimes wear when at the pool. Alas, no one has been able to “appreciate” this much other than myself, but there you go…

Even though thongs are considered more “feminine” and jockstraps more “masculine,” I rather tend to think of them as appropriate anal top/bottom attire respectively (even though, of course, one can “work around” such things however one wishes). Anyway, either one can be totally hot, under the right circumstances.

There are some jockstraps that can have a cup attached on the outside, while others rely on the plastic cup to be slipped between your johnson and the jockstrap pouch itself. This is used in sports like football and American football, where close and brutal contact can occur.

In other sports where physical contact is minimum, a cup is not necessarily used.
