For a while now I have been following the gay blog ‘Hawaii Speedo Student’ – it features this really cute college guy in Hawaii who loves speedos and has a bunch of photos of himself, in his speedos of course.
He has a great collection of speedos including a bunch of AussieBums. Hopefully we’ll see him in some DESwimwear sometime in the future.
I’ve meet a handful of fellow bloggers and I would LOVE to meet the Speedo Student for sure!!!
Here are some pics from the Speedo Students blog and if you’d like to see more click here to check them out.

Of all Speedo Students photos this is my favourite!!! Him wearing a white speedo solar…..

Hey guys – sorry I haven’t posted for a few days but I’m in transit on my way to Colorado.
I’m posting this from Denver airport while I wait for the shuttle to take me up to Kip’s place in Breckenridge.
At this stage I’m going to be stateside until the end of the month so let me know if you are in the neighbourhood and don’t mind wearing speedos (or less) in the hottub.
I’ll post more tomorrow…..
Just wanted to give you guys an update on a few things…..
- Yesterday I finished running through the blogroll on here. I made sure the blogs exist and have stuff on them that I think you guys will like to read. I personally read a lot of the blogs on the blogroll and can recommend them.
- If you have any blogs that you like to read please leave a comment and recommend them and I’ll check them out.
- I’ve just added 6 new movies to SwimmerBoyz.com and while I write this I’m in the process of uploading another 4.
- You can see all the movies at www.SwimmerBoyz.com/movies.asp
Today isn’t that bad a day so I’m off to the pool for a swim and then I think I’ll head down to the beach to work on my speedo tan and my book.
The rest of the week the weather isn’t looking too friendly to speedo tanning unfortunately.
You guys know my position on condom use - I choose to use condoms and if you don’t then we aren’t going to fuck.
There are two couples that I’ve played with who really didn’t want me to use a condom - I was polite as I could be in saying that I was pretty serious about condom use. In the end these couples agreed that it was fine (this was well before the fact – not when we were all naked in the living room).
I’m starting to sound like Reverend Wright – preaching. I’ll stop now.
Anyways – back to the idea of this post.
Imagine if all the major brands started selling their own condoms and kept their original tag-lines.

- Andrex Condoms – Soft, strong and very very long

With my impending move to Sydney (although I will be living out of Sydney on the beach), I’ve been talking with friends of mine in the city a fair bit lately. Most of my friends who live in the city are gay and I’m looking forward to hanging out with guys who are openly gay. My friends on the coast are all str8, I grew up with str8 friends and some of my best ‘guy sexual partners’ have been bi and very very str8 acting.
I’m very str8 acting myself.
Hanging out with some openly gay guys in a city where I’m not afraid of my grandma walking around the corner seems quite liberating.
However, some of my gay Sydney friends come across as being a bit down. A couple of friends are looking for long term, monogamous relationships and it seems to be getting them down. My str8 guy friends rejoice in their bachelorhood and I know girls who are looking for ‘Mr Right’ but they don’t seem to let it bring them down.
I’m sure I am completely generalizing here but this is what I have observed.
It got me thinking enough that I even did some research and here are a couple of articles I found.
In 1989, the United States Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) issued its “Report on the Secretary’s Task Force on Youth Suicide,” which found that “A majority of suicide attempts by homosexuals occur during their youth, and gay youth are 2 to 3 times more likely to attempt suicide than other young people. (http://www.outproud.org/article_suicide.html)
National Center for Injury Prevention and Control (NCIPC) – a branch of the CDC. In 2002, 132,353 individuals were hospitalized following suicide attempts; 116,639 were treated in emergency departments and released. Most suicides are committed with a firearm (55-60 percent). Suicide is the eighth-leading cause of death for all U.S. men; males are four times more likely to die from suicide than females—even though women report attempting suicide during their lifetimes about three times as often as men. I don’t think you could ever find completely accurate stats on this topic and those 2 articles are pretty old – I only posted them because they weren’t what I had expected.
This post is more of a serious post and I’d like to hear what you guys think and if the rate of suicide among gay/lesbian youth is 2 times the average - is there anything that could be done to help?
